Family Guy’s Peter Griffin and Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake Coming to Fortnite, Leak Suggests

Fortnite‘s next season looks set to feature Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake and Family Guy’s Peter Griffin, according to a leak from Epic Games and Xbox.

Unofficial Fortnite news X/Twitter account ShiinaBR shared an advertisement on the Xbox Store (below) that seemingly went up a little too early, revealing the next cast of characters soon available in Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 1, dubbed Underground.

Timed relatively close to Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1’s launch, series protagonist Solid Snake will likely arrive in Fortnite as part of the update. While only his classic sneaking suit can be seen in the image, acting as a throwback to the original Metal Gear Solid, Fortnite’s tendency to release variant skins could mean alternates such as Big Boss or old Solid Snake could also appear.

Peter Griffin also stands out in the image given his 2D cartoon art style. The Family Guy himself has been rumoured to appear in Fortnite for years and isn’t wearing his classic outfit in the image, but a suave tuxedo instead.

Several other characters also appear in the leaked advertisement, though Solid Snake and Peter Griffin are certainly the most recognisable.

Chapter 5: Season 1 will have a lot to prove given the popularity of its predecessor, the OG Update, which saw 44.7 million players log on in a single day in what Epic Games described as “the biggest day in Fortnite’s history”.

It will also follow a wave of controversy as Epic Games implemented then disabled age restricted cosmetics, with players criticising it as one of the “worst updates” in Fortnite history.

Season OG ends with a new in-game live event called The Big Bang, which is set to star Eminem. It all kicks off December 2, 2023 at 2pm ET.
