Fortnite OG 2: Start Date, Battle Pass, Leaks, And Rumors

With Fortnitemares ongoing, we’re approaching the end of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4. As with last year, we’re expecting a little something extra before we head to Chapter 6, though–a new iteration of Fortnite OG will run for a month between the end of Chapter 5 and the beginning of Chapter 6. This isn’t officially announced yet, but it’s been heavily rumored and, if you believe the leaked 2024 roadmap–and you should since it’s been right so far–another round of Fortnite OG is on the way. While Fortnite battle royale, Rocket Racing, Festival, and Lego all have plenty in store for this October’s spooky party, it’s already time to look ahead at the next big thing. Here’s everything we know about Fortnite OG 2 so far, including leaks, rumors, and a look at possible past seasons that will be involved.

When does Fortnite OG 2 start?

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 is currently slated to wrap up late in the evening on Thursday, November 1 in the US. If all goes well, the game will go down for maintenance for several hours, and the new OG season will start during the morning of November 2.

What should we expect from Fortnite OG 2?

This new version of Fortnite OG is expected to cover the first several seasons of Chapter 2, which gradually built up to the big Marvel incursion in Season 4 back in 2020. Notably, Season 2 was the one that introduced Midas, and Season 3 was when the island flooded. Fortunately, this period was also when they added boats, and since boats have been missing for the entirety of Chapter 5, those will be a welcome sight should they return.

The state of the island will rapidly change over the course of the month, reflecting aspects of the island’s evolution over that year. And then, at the end of November, OG 2 will wrap up with a live event that will usher in Chapter 6. Maybe this time it won’t completely reset the plot.

Fortnite OG 2 Battle Pass

Last year’s OG pass was half the length of a normal battle pass, with four skins that were each hybrids of multiple existing skins from that era, and one set of super styles. We should expect something similar this time, too–and a new Midas-related skin seems very possible since he’s a fan-favorite character.

Other popular characters that popped up during this era include Skye, Meowscles, TNTina, Jellie, Guff, the customizable Gear Specialist Maya, Penny, Jules, Kit, Axo, and that hot dog man. While Guff is probably not a factor since he’s getting a new skin for Fortnitemares, any of those others are a good candidate for a new remix or mashup skin in the OG 2 Pass.

Way back in the spring, a leaked roadmap for the remainder of 2024 emerged from the game’s hyperactive leaking community, and it proved to be largely true. And there’s only one item left from that roadmap that hasn’t happened yet: Fortnite Festival Season 6, headlined by Snoop Dogg. The new season of Festival will launch the same day as OG 2 does, and so the first collab of this throwback season will be the OGest OG to ever join the Fortnite ranks.

This pairing may not just be a thematic one–OG 2 will reportedly add a low-rider hydraulics vehicle mod that will allow you to make the car jump. As Festival headliner, Snoop will likely get a skin in the Festival Pass, as well as one in the item shop. Last year’s OG Pass did not include any collab skins, so that may again be the case here, but it seems Festival will bring a special crossover of its own.

We’ll continue updating this story as we learn more about Fortnite OG 2.
