Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains spoilers.
Where to find the Journalist Stash in Prypiat in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl
The Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Prypiat Journalist Stash can only be obtained fairly close to the end of the campaign. But, before that, you need to make sure that you’ve acquired all other rewards left behind by the reporter, Veniamin.
We’ve detailed the locations of all the containers and the item rewards in our Seek And You Shall Find guide.
Prypiat Journalist Stash map
Once you’ve obtained your twelfth Journalist Stash, a PDA voice recording mentions that there’s a thirteenth chest hidden in Prypiat. It’s at the northern edge of the world map.
How to reach Prypiat
Of course, grabbing the last remaining reward is no easy task. If you try to head north from Garbage/Slag Heap, you’ll realize that there’s a high concrete wall blocking the way. So, how exactly do you reach Prypiat in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl?
- The Boundary quest: You need to progress through the campaign further until you get a main quest called The Boundary. This requires you to obtain an M-Scanner device in the Red Forest and Yaniv regions.
- M-Scanner options: At the end of this quest, you can choose whether to give the M-Scanner to the commander of Yaniv Base, or to use it in an electrified tunnel.
Both of these paths lead to Prypiat, so make sure you’re ready for the journey.
The apartment complex and keypad code
Track the Seek and You Shall Find side quest and the Journalist Stash icon so you know its location. As you proceed along Prypiat’s abandoned streets, hug the southern wall until you see an open path. This takes you to a courtyard with a lone apartment building.
Inside this building, you’ll have to contend with numerous Mutant Dog and Psydog enemies. The Psydogs are extremely dangerous due to cramped spaces. You could end up wasting bullets if the real creature is able to spawn more clones while behind walls or in other rooms.
Near the top floor of the apartment, you’ll stumble upon a keypad. Enter the code: 2-0-2-1.
Prypiat Journalist Stash rewards
You should now be able to grab the rewards from the Stalker 2 Prypiat Journalist Stash. There’s an M860 Cracker and PTM lying around, but the crate itself is on the balcony. Here’s what’s inside:
- Margach D-12MT – Customized D-12 shotgun.
- Hunter – Modified sniper rifle.
- PSZ-21W Shturm – Armored suit with a +12 kg. maximum weight bonus.
- The Journalist’s PDA also contains a message from a certain fella that you should be familiar with by now, especially if you’re a veteran of the previous games.
A message on the wall
Veniamin has, sadly, met an unfortunate end. We did see a message scrawled on the wall. We ran it through Google Translate, but we couldn’t make heads or tails of the result. If you speak and understand Ukrainian, and you know what the message means, please do tell us in the comments section.
That does it for our guide on how to get the Prypiat Journalist Stash in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Now, you’ve got some handy weaponry and an amazing armor piece.
