Adam Driver Defends Ferrari During Q&A: ‘F**k You’

Adam Driver had a blunt response when asked about Ferrari during a Q&A, telling one person who questioned the movie: “F**k you.”

Appearing at Poland’s Camerimage festival, the Ferrari star and former Sith had a bit of a Dark Side moment when one festival goer quizzed him about the film’s “cheesy” crash scenes.

“What do you think about [the] crash scenes?” he was asked by one audience member. “They looked pretty harsh, drastic and, I must say, cheesy for me. What do you think?”

“F**k you, I don’t know,” he responded. “Next question.”

Ferrari stars Driver as Enzo Ferrari, the Italian racing driver and motoring pioneer, during the summer of 1957 when the company faced bankruptcy. As we know, Ferrari wagered everything on one race: the Mille Miglia, which pits drivers against a 1,000-mile course across Italy.

Ferrari was nominated for the Golden Lion at the 2023 Venice Film Festival and saw Adam Driver attending the Camerimage festival in the first place to pick up the Special Award for an Actor for his role in the film. Perhaps not the best time to ask if he thought the film looked a bit cheesy, then!

Alongside Driver, Ferrari also stars Penelope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Gabriel Leone, Sarah Gadon and Patrick Dempsey. Michael Mann directed the film, which was written by Troy Kennedy Martin.

IGN’s Ferrari review gave it 7/10 and said: “Legendary director Michael Mann’s first film in eight years tells the story of Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari during one of the most important periods of his professional and personal life. Leaning away from blood-pumping thrills and towards family drama, Ferrari benefits from another great turn by Adam Driver and a handful of masterfully choreographed race scenes but is ultimately too risk-averse.”
