A new Blu-ray edition for one of the coolest anime of all time is up for preorder now. Afro Samurai – The Complete Series and the 2009 film Resurrection are compiled in one set. Adapted from the manga written and illustrated by manga artist Takashi Okazaki, Afro Samurai tells the story of a lone samurai out for revenge. A tale about warriors fighting to possess the Number 1 headband–which is said to grant god-like powers and immortality–the only way to obtain it is to challenge and defeat its current owner in combat. Only the wearer of the Number 2 headband may challenge Number 1, and naturally, fighters from across the land regularly battle one another for the magical scrap of cloth.
