Barry Keoghan Joins Cast of Netflix’s Peaky Blinders Movie

Oscar-nominee Barry Keoghan is the latest actor to join the cast of Netflix’s Peaky Blinders movie.

Netflix confirmed the news on X/Twitter shortly after Deadline reported Keoghan’s casting in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, which the streaming giant greenlit back in June. Keoghan joins Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson in the Tom Harper-directed feature, but details of his role are being kept under wraps for now.

The Irish actor has delivered several noteworthy performances in recent years and has also earned some accolades during awards season, having picked up a BAFTA and Golden Globe nomination for his leading role in last year’s Saltburn and received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination and won the BAFTA in that category for The Banshees of Inisherin. He also starred as Druig in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Eternals and played the Joker in The Batman opposite Robert Pattinson.

The continuation of the multi-award-winning, six-season gangster saga has a script written by the show’s creator, Steven Knight, who told Deadline in 2022 that the movie would take place during World War II. Knight is also producing alongside Caryn Mandabach, Guy Heeley, and Murphy. Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason are also on board as executive producers.

Netflix has not yet revealed a release date for the Peaky Blinders movie, but production is slated to start later this year.
