Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer Clip Gets Recreated in LEGO by Across the Spider-Verse Teen Animator

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse teen animator Preston Mutanga has recreated one of the most revered shots in the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer using LEGO.

The 15-year-old self-taught animator posted his latest creation on X/Twitter @FG_Artist, where it quickly caught the attention of fans and earned a retweet from Ryan Reynolds. The five-second clip shows LEGO Deadpool twirling around as he reloads his guns, with the destroyed 20th Century Fox logo in the background.

The LEGO remake copies the sequence from 1:37 in the original trailer, and fans can’t get enough of it. The video has garnered over 53K likes at the time of writing, with comments praising Mutanga for his skills, speed, and accuracy. Some have requested “the whole trailer in LEGO,” while others want “LEGO Deadpool in the movie.”

The brick version of Deadpool will be familiar to those who have played LEGO Marvel Superheroes, as the Merc with a Mouth (voiced by Nolan North) narrates the game’s side missions and even has his own room aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, but Mutanga has proven that LEGO Deadpool has main character energy.

Mutanga previously caught the attention of Spider-Verse’s writer-producers Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, who also directed The Lego Movie, after he recreated the entire Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer in LEGO. They ended up tapping Mutanga to create a LEGO scene for the animated sequel.

Deadpool & Wolverine has already broken the record previously held by Spider-Man: No Way Home for the most-viewed trailer of all time within 24 hours as diehard Marvel fans have been scouring the footage for Easter eggs and details they might have missed the first time, such as the Doctor Doom and Patch teasers.

The third Deadpool film releases in theaters on July 26 as part of Phase 5 of the MCU, and it looks to be setting up Avengers: Secret Wars. Reynolds reprises his role as Deadpool, with Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine, though this time he is wearing his fan-favorite yellow and blue costume made famous by the X-Men comics.
