Diablo 4 Season 4, dubbed Loot Reborn, is taking a step back from focusing on tons of new content, instead reworking the loot system to provide a better overall experience. The amount of loot being dropped has been decreased, but several big changes were made to make the loot that is being dropped much better. Items will make players more powerful, with many of the ultra-specific affixes that boost damage taken out in favor of more general affixes. Since the new affixes are more general, items work better with a larger variety of builds, making it easier to find gear that fits your build, instead of constantly respecing your build to match the loot you’re finding.
In addition to this massive item rework, Hell Tides, one of the world events aimed at getting great loot, is now available on every world tier, letting players get to it faster in the new season. Season 4 also features a new battle pass, with 90 tiers of new cosmetics, Silver, and titles. The premium version costs 1,000 Silver (about $10 USD), although there is 700 Silver in the premium version. There is also an accelerated version for 2,800 Platinum (about $28 USD), which contains 20 tier skips and an exclusive emote, in addition to all of the content in the premium version of the battle pass.
While the focus of Loot Reborn is on the new loot system, there still is a bit of new content for the new season, with a questline revolving around helping the Iron Wolves push back the demons of hell. There is also a new endgame dungeon, The Pit, which contains new crafting materials that are needed to masterwork items, which improves their power.
