Discord announced today that it will soon allow Xbox owners to stream their games directly onto its platform, a feature that was previously exclusive to PC and mobile users.
In a press release today, the company confirmed that it will allow Xbox players the feature to stream their Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One games directly through Discord. This new feature, like on PC and mobile, will enable users to stream gameplay of their Xbox games with their friends, whether it is in a private DM, a group DM, or an entire Discord server. Those with a subscription to Discord Nitro can stream their Xbox Games on Discord at up to 1080p resolution and increased framerates.
Discord notes in the press release that this feature has been widely requested among its users and teases that it and Xbox have more news to share later this year.
This announcement comes over a year after Discord announced that it was adding voice chat integration to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles. Outside of its partnership with Xbox, earlier this year, Discord announced that its voice chat is now available on PS5.
Xbox Streaming to Discord is available first for members of the Xbox Insider program, with broader availability “coming soon.”
