Once you’ve completed Act I of the A Rift in Time expansion, Disney Dreamlight Valley finally lets you get to work on opening the strange ruins in Ancient’s Landing. However, you’ll need to speak to Merlin first and accept “The Sunken Ruins” before anything else can play out. Once you’ve done so, read below for how to finish up this quest.
Where to find Flickers
How to complete The Sunken Ruins quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Once you’ve accepted “The Sunken Ruins” from Merlin, you’ll be tasked with finding Flickers. These magical little items can be found in three types of locations using your Royal Hourglass, but you’ll need to know exactly where to look.
For starters, head to the Realm of Moana, Ratatouille, or WALL-E. Here, use your Royal Hourglass to find the first three Flickers. We found them all in Rataouille’s realm, but you may find that you need to travel between a few different realms to get them all.
Secondly, make your way to the well in the Plaza. Use your Royal Hourglass here until you’ve found four Flickers in the general area. Don’t venture too far away, though, as all of the Flickers will be very close to the well.
Lastly, go to Ancient’s Landing and repeat the process a final time at the well here until you’ve collected the final four Flickers. Again, don’t venture far from the well, as all of the Flickers should be nearby.
How to open the Sunken Ruins
Return to Merlin once you’ve obtained all of the requested Flickers, then follow him to the ruins in Ancient’s Landing. Speak to him once more to watch a cutscene wherein the entrance to the ruins will rise from beneath the water. You can now enter the ruins and speak with Merlin.
Now you’ll need to take some photos. First, grab a shot of the three musical notes to the right of Merlin in the East Chamber. Next, snap a pic of the computer terminal in the North chamber. And finally, take a photo of the large sun pedestal in the West chamber.
Return to Merlin to start the next quest “All the Right Notes.”
