Every Game And Announcement From The Big Triple-I Initiative Showcase

The first-ever Triple-i Initiative showcase took place April 10, with more than 30 studios showcasing their latest projects. The name Triple-i refers to how these games stem from independent game studios, as compared to AAA games from large teams and studios.

The 40-minute showcase featured 35 games in all, including Slay the Spire 2, Risk of Rain 2, 33 Immortals, Ravenswatch: Fall of Avalon, and Palworld. The event concluded with what might have been its biggest reveal–the announcement of The Rogue Prince of Persia from Ubisoft and Dead Cells developer Evil Empire. Another big announcement was that Palworld is introducing an Arena mode. In short, there were a lot of games and announcements.

Slay the Spire 2 (Mega Crit)

The showcase kicked off on an exciting note with the announcement of Slay the Spire 2, a sequel fans had been calling for. The sequel arrives through Steam Early Access in 2025.

Risk of Rain 2 (Gearbox Publishing)

Risk of Rain 2’s Devotion update was announced during the showcase. It adds a new stage, Verdant Falls and a new artifacts called Devotion and Delusion. The update is “coming soon.”

KILL KNIGHT (PlaySide Studios)

PlaySide Studios announced a brand-new game during the showcase. Kill Knight, in which you play as a knight who kills things, is in the works for Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Switch, and it launches in 2024.

Shadows of Doubt (Fireshine Games & ColePowered Games)

The sandbox detective game Shadows of Doubt expands to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2024, and a free Sharpshooter Assassin update is out now on PC.

My Time at Sandrock (Pathea Games, Focus Entertainment & PM Studios)

The cozy-looking farm life sim My Time at Sandrock got a new trailer during the showcase that confirmed cross-platform co-op multiplayer is coming to PC and console later in 2024.

Dinolords (Northplay & Ghost Ship Publishing)

Dinolords, a game with a cool concept–you’re a knight who rides dinosaurs–is in the works for PC and got a new trailer during the showcase. Fans can wishlist it now on Steam.

Gestalt: Steam & Cinder (Fireshine Games)

Gestalt: Steam and Cinder, from developer Fireshine Games, now has a release date, and it’s soon. The steampunk adventure game launches on Steam on May 21.

Vampire Survivors (Poncle)

The popular game Vampire Survivors had a pair of big announcements in store during the showcase. This included the reveal of new DLC, Operation Guns, and the announcement that Vampire Survivors is headed to PlayStation consoles. The Operation Guns DLC brings characters and weapons from the game series Contra to Vampire Survivors when it launches on May 9.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (A44 & Kepler Interactive)

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, an action-RPG from A44 and Kepler Interactive, got a new trailer during the showcase that confirmed a Summer 2024 release window. The game will be available across PC and console platforms.

Never Alone 2 (Humble Games)

2014’s Never Alone, an adventure game featuring an Iñupiaq and her Arctic fox friend, is getting a sequel a decade later. A brief teaser showed some of what to expect. Fans can wishlist the game now.

Cataclismo (Digital Sun Games)

Cataclismo, from developer Digital Sun Games, is an RTS from the creator of Moonlighter that has players building castles to defend themselves from terrors trying to break in. The game got a new trailer and release date during the showcase; Cataclismo launches July 16 on PC.

Death Must Die (Realm Archive)

Death Must Die, a game with a good name from Real Archie, got a new trailer during the showcase that confirmed that Act II is releasing on April 20.

Endzone 2

The post-apocalyptic survival game Endzone: A World Apart is getting a sequel very soon, as early access for Endzone 2 will begin this summer. A brief trailer showed rebuilding the world to navigate and travel in an isometric perspective.

Dyson Sphere Program (Youthcat Studio & Gamera Games)

The factory sim Dyson Sphere Program teased an impending update that will add new vehicles to the game, in a cute animated trailer.

UnderMine2 (Thorium)

A sequel to the roguelike dungeon-crawler Undermine was announced with a trailer featuring dual protagonists, blob shopkeepers, and killer bees.

Norland (Hooded Horse)

 

The medieval kingdom builder Norland now has a release date. A new trailer showed off how your family of nobles will manage the kingdom, and teased an early access release on May 16.

WHAT THE CAR? (TRIBAND)

What the Car?, the gonzo action game from What the Golf? studio Triband, is coming to Steam on September 5. But you don’t have to wait, as a demo is now available.

Darkest Dungeon (Red Hook Studios)

Red Hook Studios teased a free update to Darkest Dungeon this year, which will add a new mode called Kingdoms. The new trailer showed some of the Kingdoms combat and skill trees.

RKGK (Wabisabi Design & Gearbox Publishing)

A stylish graffiti-inspired trailer introduced the world of RKGK (pronounced “Rah-koo-gah-kee”), which takes place in a neon-soaked futuristic city. It’s coming this summer.

Broken Roads (Drop Bear Bytes)

A narrative-driven post-apocalpytic RPG set in Australia, Broken Roads boasts a unique alignment system that categorizes your choices into Nihilist, Humanist, Macheavellian, and Utilitarian philosophies. It’s available now on Steam.

Ravenswatch: Fall of Avalon (Passtech Games)

The co-op roguelike Ravenswatch is getting an early access update called Fall of Avalon on April 22. The latest trailer showed the co-op combat and teased a dark enemy lurking in wait.

Cat Quest III (The Gentlebros & Kepler Interactive)

An adorable new animated trailer for Cat Quest III debuted, showing a story sequence and some combat revolving around the golden age of piracy (as portrayed by cute kitty-cats). It’s coming in 2024.

Hyper Light Breaker (Heart Machine)

Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Breaker releases via Steam Early Access this Summer, the studio announced during the showcase.

The Last Spell (Ishtar Games & The Arcade Crew)

The Last Spell, which released in March 2023, is welcoming an expansion–Dwarves of Runenberg–on April 24. It promises, among other things, new weapons to use. A free update is also in the works for everyone.

Laysara: Summit Kingdom

Laysara: Summit Kingdom is a new indie game you can play right now, as the game–which challenges players to build a settlement in the mountains and deal with the elements, launched today, April 10 on Steam Early Access.

Wizard of Legend 2 (Humble Games)

Wizard of Legend 2 from Humble Games and developer Dead Mage got a new trailer during the showcase, showing off it’s gorgeous environments and more.

Let’s School (Pathea & PM Studios)

Following its debut on PC, Let’s School is headed to console this summer. Specifically, the game will be available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5.

Brotato (Blobfish Games)

Brotato’s newest DLC is called Abysmal Terrors, and it releases this summer. Blobfish Games also announced that a couch co-op update for the game is in the works.

Tchia (Awaceb & Kepler Interactive)

The serene-looking physics-driven sandbox game Tchia, which released in March on PC, is coming to Nintendo Switch on June 27. Preorders are open now.

Streets of Rogue 2 ( tinyBuild)

A nice new trailer for Streets of Rogue 2, described as an immersive open-world randomly generated sandbox game, debuted during the showcase. Fans can wishlist the game on Steam now.

Developer Mohawk Games and publisher Hooded Horse announced a new game during the showcase, and it’s the strategy and tactics PC game Old World: Behind the Throne. People don’t have to wait long to play it, though, as Old World launches May 28.

Palworld (Pocket Pair)

Coming later in 2024 is the Palworld Arena, which, based upon the announcement during the showcase, appears to be a new place where players can go to battle monsters and other players.

33 Immortals (Thunder Lotus)

A closed beta for 33 Immortals, a co-op action-roguelike game for 33 people from developer Thunder Lotus, is beginning in mid-May on PC. For more, check out GameSpot’s rundown of what you need to know about the beta and how to sign up.

MOUSE (FUMI Games & PlaySide Publishing)

Now that Mickey Mouse is in the public domain, many people are taking advantage. This includes FUMI Games and PlaySide Publishing, which is releasing a Mickey Mouse-with-guns game called Mouse. A new trailer showed off more of the game in which players mow down all manner of legally distinct Mickey Mouse characters in a black-and-white, retro-inspired shooter.

V Rising (Stunlock Studios)

Stunlock Studios announced during the showcase that Simon Belmont from the Castlevania series is headed to V Rising on May 8 for PC and on PS5 at some point in 2024. He’ll be in the game as an enemy you can face off against. A Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack is also releasing May 8 on PC and in 2024 on PS5.

The Rogue Prince of Persia (Evil Empire & Ubisoft)

The presentation concluded with the announcement of The Rogue Prince of Persia, a new roguelike Metroidvania game from Dead Cells studio Evil Empire in partnership with Ubisoft. The game launches into Steam Early Access in May.
