Fable Co-Developer Eidos Montreal Lays Off Staff, The Latest Cuts From Embracer

The trend of layoffs in the video game industry continues, as game developer Eidos Montreal–which is co-developing the new Fable–has announced that it’s cutting 75 jobs.

In a memo posted on social media, the studio said it’s cutting the jobs because “one of our mandates is coming to an end.” The developer did not elaborate further about this.

However, the studio said about affected staffers, “It is not a reflection of their dedication or skills, but unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity to entirely reallocate them to our other ongoing projects and services.”
