Frozen 4 ‘In the Works’ Alongside Frozen 3, Disney CEO Bob Iger Confirms

Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed there just “might” be a Frozen 4 “in the works” alongside Frozen 3 at Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Iger teased the big news on Good Morning America following the opening ceremony for World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland, saying Jennifer Lee, Walt Disney Animation Studios chief creative office and co-director of both Frozen films, is hard at work with her team on not only one Frozen film, but two.

“Frozen 3 is in the works, and there might be a Frozen 4 in the works too,” Iger teased with a smile. “But I don’t have much to say about those films right now. But Jen Lee, who created the original Frozen and Frozen 2, is hard at work with her team at Disney animation on not one but actually two stories.”

Frozen 3 was announced by Bob Iger during a quarterly earnings call back in February 2023 alongside Toy Story 5 and Zootopia 2, but he didn’t reveal any more details on the much-anticipated sequels.

Since then, Disney has released Disney Frozen: Forces of Nature, a first-of-its-kind podcast series that tells a new story set after the events of Frozen 2. It hasn’t been confirmed if this will tie into the events of the next Frozen film, but another story in Arendelle is always welcome.

Frozen celebrates its 10th anniversary on November 27, and that’s a big milestone for the film that earned over $1.28 billion at the global box office. Only Frozen 2’s $1.45 billion worldwide run earned more than the original for any Walt Disney Animation Studios film.

As for World of Frozen, it opens at Hong Kong Disneyland on November 20. The team at Disney Imagineering has recreated Arendelle for guests to explore, attractions like Frozen Ever After, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, Playhouse in the Woods, and much more.
