How to pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders didn’t go as planned, but they’re finally open in the U.S. ahead of the June 5 release. You can place an order for Nintendo’s next-gen console through Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, or Nintendo starting at $449.99. (Note: GameStop online pre-orders don’t open until 11 a.m. EDT.) If you’re also planning on purchasing Mario Kart World, you could save $30 by opting for the Switch 2 bundle that includes the console and anticipated racing game for $499.99 at Best Buy or Walmart.

Whether you purchase the Switch 2 on its own or the Mario Kart World bundle, the hardware included is the same. In addition to the console, you’ll get a 4K-ready TV dock, a pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, wrist straps for the Joy-Con 2s, an AC power adapter, a USB-C cable, and a HDMI cable.

Many of your accessories for the original Switch will work with the Switch 2, but there are also a bunch of new Switch 2 accessories you can pre-order now (we highly recommend ordering a microSD Express card to expand the console’s 256 GB of built-in storage, as well). Nintendo has also made a selection of Switch 2 games and new Zelda amiibo available to reserve.

Below, we’ve also included several Switch 2 bundles available at Best Buy. Currently, none of them offer savings compared to buying products individually, unlike the Mario Kart World bundle listed above.
