You don’t need to pinch yourself, Dream Productions is real and will hit Disney+ in 2025. Set between Inside Out and Inside Out 2 the spin-off will focus on the studio where Riley’s nighttime imaginings are created. Think a look behind the scenes of movie production, but delivered via the medium of Pixar’s whimsy.

Dream Productions has already appeared in the Inside Out movies, but a trailer shown at D23 gave us a better look at the how it all happens, with staff getting prepared as Riley falls asleep. The show will explore the creation of dreams and how they can impact our waking lives. Pixar’s chief creative officer Pete Doctor calls the show “an in-betweenquel.”
“This is our first original series, and we wanted to do something unique and bold, unlike anything we’ve done before,” he explained on stage in Anaheim.
At the start of this month, Inside Out 2 officially became the 10th highest grossing movie of all time, beating The Avengers and Furious 7. Originally announced in 2022, Inside Out 2 was released in June, when we gave it a 7 in our review, calling it “a smart but emotionally stunted sequel.”
