Marathon Alpha Was Playable Early, Now Shut Down

Bungie’s new game, Marathon, kicks off its alpha test on April 23, but some people got to play it early–and they even streamed gameplay online for everyone to see. However, Bungie quickly caught on and shut things down.
Community manager Cozmo said on social media that some lucky players got a “sneak peek,” but the studio didn’t let fans keep playing. “Glad to see people enjoying their first runs,” Cozmo said.
The Marathon alpha officially begins at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on April 23. This is a closed alpha test, so players need an invite to get in.
