Marvel’s New Human Torch Joseph Quinn Hopes He Can Live Up To Chris Evans’ Performance

The three Fantastic Four films–four if you count the infamous Roger Corman spectacle–haven’t been the most memorable comic book movies. Yeah, the first two starring Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis, and Chris Evans made some money, but Alba getting a Razzie nomination for Sue Storm wasn’t exactly promising. The follow-up reboot in 2015 with Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan sealed the deal.

Marvel Studios teased Fantastic Four finally heading over to the Juggernaut during the San Diego Comic-Con panel back in 2019, with the cast finally announced back in February. Joseph Quinn, who’s taking over as the Human Torch Johnny Storm said he’s a huge fan of Evans’ take on the character and wants to do it justice.

“I remember really enjoying Chris Evans’ performance as Johnny in the previous films, and it felt like this would be a really exciting opportunity; I was absolutely signed up,” Quinn told Entertainment Weekly. The actor added that he feels like has big boots to fill and wanted to make the role his own.
