Neo-Noir Game El Paso, Elsewhere Getting Movie Adaptation

The independent game El Paso, Nowhere is potentially getting a movie adaptation. Deadline reports that Oscar-nominated actor LaKeith Stanfield (Judas and the Black Messiah, Get Out) is in talks to appear in a movie based on the game. Di Bonaventura Pictures, which produces the Transformers and G.I. Joe franchises, is attached to produce.

The movie, should it get made, would center on main character James Savage (Stanfield) who is confronting his personal demons after getting out of a toxic relationship with a woman, the vampire Janet, who is now trying to execute a “world-ending ritual.”

“James navigates her reality-bending universe of ethereal monsters while facing the truth of his own addictions and skewed sense of self-worth, learning that the only route to love is through healing,” reads a line from the film’s description.
