Path Of Exile 2: Best Ascendancy To Pick For Each Class
Estimated reading time: 12 minutes
Unlocking your Ascendancy in Path of Exile 2 is the biggest leap forward you can make for your character. Your Ascension class offers more specialized nodes to acquire that allow you to further customize the build you’ve chosen. It might take some time to unlock the Ascendancy through the Trial of Sekhemas in Act 2, but it’s well worth the trouble.
However, even after making it through the trial, it’s not all butterflies and rainbows. All six classes in Path of Exile 2 have two Ascension classes to choose from and once you make your choice, there’s no turning back or respecing. As such, you need to ensure you have all the information so you make the best decision for your character.
Below, we’ll showcase both Ascendancies for all six classes in Path of Exile 2 along with our recommendation for each class.
Warrior Ascendancies
Warbringer
A more melee-focused class that utilizes Totems and Warcries to damage enemies and boost your stats. Totems offer passive damage that allows you to focus on keeping your HP up. Here are the Warbringer Ascendancy Nodes:
- Anvil’s Weight:
- Break Armour equal to 10% of Hit Damage dealt.
- Answered Call:
- Trigger Ancestral Spirits when you summon a Totem.
- Grants Skill: Ancestral Spirits.
- Imploding Impacts:
- You can Break Enemy Armour to below 0.
- Jade Heritage:
- Gain a stack of Jade every second.
- Grants Skill: Encased in Jade.
- Warcallers Bellow:
- Corpses in your presence explode when you Warcry, dealing 25% of their life as physical damage.
- Greatwolf’s Howl:

- Turtle Charm:
- 35% less Block chance.

- Wooden Wall:
- 20% of Damage from Hits is taken from your nearest Totem’s Life before you.
Titan
A class more centered around health and defense than overall damage. You’ll be a tankier character that can take several hits from enemies before having to worry about using a life flask.
- Ancestral Empowerment:
- Every second Slam Skill you use yourself is Ancestrally Boosted.
- Colossal Capacity:
- Carry a Chest which adds 20 Inventory Slots.
- Earthbreaker:
- 20% chance for Slam Skills you use yourself to cause Aftershocks.
- Crushing Impacts:
- Your hits are Crushing Blows.
- Surprising Strength:
- 40% more Damage against Heavy Stunned Enemies.
- Hulking Form:
- 50% increased effect of Small Passive Skills.
- Mysterious Lineage:
- 15% more Maximum Life.
- Stone Skin:
- 50% more Armour from Equipped Body Armor.
Overall, we recommend the Titan Ascendancy for most Warrior builds. While the damage you get in exchange for going with the Warbringer, Titan allows you to stay alive for longer against enemies and bosses. Since a majority of the harder bosses in Path of Exile 2 are so melee-oriented, Warriors are going to be at a disadvantage unless they have the proper health and defense.
With the Titan, you can still equip high-damage skills while also having more HP and a higher overall defense. It’s the best of both worlds and the Warbringer can’t necessarily match what the Ascendancy brings to the table.
