PlayStation Plus Extra And Premium Games For June 2024 Revealed

For several years, Sony has held a PlayStation celebration called Days of Play, and this year will see the return of that event. For Days of Play 2024, Sony is kicking off the celebrations with an early look at what PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to starting May 29. For games, PS Plus subscribers can look forward to some terrific titles in June, including Streets of Rage 4 and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake.

Bonus titles for the PlayStation Game Catalog and Classic Catalog have also been announced, and PSVR 2 owners can dust off their headsets as several virtual reality games will be offered as well for members of the PS Plus Premium tier. We’ve rounded up everything arriving this week and in June below, and Sony has also confirmed that it’ll be marking the occasion by giving away new avatars to all PlayStation players throughout Days of Play.

Streets of Rage 4

Available for all PlayStation Plus members on June 4.

Streets of Rage 4 isn’t just a great action game, it’s arguably the best entry in the beat-’em-up series. Fluid animation, smart tweaks to the DNA of this sequel, and fun modes make Streets of Rage 4 a must-have action game to grab when it’s available through PS Plus in June.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake

Available for all PlayStation Plus members on June 4.

A spiritual successor to Battle for Bikini Bottom, The Cosmic Shake is a delicious combo of weird SpongeBob humor and platforming fun. With its colorful graphics and the main actors from the animated series reprising their roles, it’s a great game for younger members of the family and older SpongeBob fans.

AEW: Fight Forever

Available for all PlayStation Plus members on June 4.

While it’s not quite ready to main event Double or Nothing, AEW: Fight Forever is a mid-carder debut with plenty of potential. A love-letter to classic WWF and WWE games like No Mercy, its gameplay is approachable, it has a pretty good roster, and it’s an interesting alternative to 2K’s WWE series of annual games.

EA Sports FC 24

EA Sports FC 24 was announced last month for PS Plus, but as a reminder, this one will be sticking around for a little longer. EA’s first football game to not feature FIFA branding, it’ll be leaving PS Plus on June 18.

Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord

Available on June 6 for Premium members. PSVR 2

The first of several PSVR 2 games being added in June, Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord puts you in the boots of a new recruit tasked with saving the day from all manner of spooks, specters, and ghosts. The game has received several updates since it launched, including DLC for the most recent film in the Ghostbusters series, Frozen Empire.

Walkabout Mini Golf

Available on June 6 for Premium members.PSVR 2

Why go outside to play a few rounds of mini golf when you can do so in the comfort of your home? Walkabout Mini Golf gives you a wide variety of 18-hole courses to explore, as well as social interaction with private spaces for up to eight people.

Synth Riders

Available on June 6 for Premium members.PSVR 2

For fans of Beat Saber, Synth Riders is a fun dance-action VR rhythm game. You can easily burn some calories with it, as a combination of freestyle dance and fitness makes for a pulse-pounding experience. Alongside the dozens of free songs in the base edition of the game, there is also a ton of DLC tracks available to purchase, featuring famous artists and bands.

Before Your Eyes

Available on June 6 for Premium members.PSVR 2

One of the more innovative games of the last few years, Before Your Eyes is a first-person narrative adventure where you control the story and affect its outcomes. The catch? The story is controlled through your blinks, as shutting your eyes moves the tale forward until it reaches its inevitable conclusion. Decisions can be made in-game based on when and where you blinked, altering how events play out.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners – Chapters 1 and 2

Available on June 6 for Premium members.PSVR 2

New Orleans is crawling with zombies, desperate survivors are jerks, and the seemingly unstoppable Axeman is out for your head. Just another day in the Big Easy, as both chapters of Skydance Interactive’s gruesome game await you. As the title implies, you can be a saint or a sinner as you decide who to help, and with plenty of infected people roaming the streets, expect to get a workout with the physics-based combat systems.

Tomb Raider: Legend

Available in Classics Catalog on June 11 for Premium members.

The first reboot of Lara Croft released all the way back in 2006, Tomb Raider: Legend follows the archeologist as she races against a former friend to obtain the mythical sword Excalibur. This was the first Tomb Raider game developed by Crystal Dynamics, and after it had a few more action-packed games in the franchise under its belt, it’d reboot Lara Croft once again with 2013’s critically acclaimed Tomb Raider.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Available in Classics Catalog on June 11 for Premium members.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars released during that golden age of movie tie-in video games, and while it was far from being one of the best in the franchise, it was still a solid experience. Starting with the Battle of Geonosis and working its way through several more pivotal campaigns, the game is played from the perspective of Jedi Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Mace Windu as they battle Separatist Forces while using the finest military hardware of the Clonetrooper army.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

Available in Classics Catalog on June 11 for Premium members.

More than a decade has passed since the last Sly Cooper game, and it doesn’t look like the dapper thief will be making a comeback for quite a while. On the positive side, you can relive one of his finest heists with his debut game when it’s added to Classic library in June.

Dredge

Available June 7 for PS5 and PS4 for Premium and Extra members.

A strange–but effective–combo of fishing and Lovecraftian horror, Dredge became a popular game thanks to its unique mix of 2D undersea exploration, store management, and RPG-lite mechanics. The perfect fishing story awaits you in Dredge, but you might have to brave cosmic terror to unlock that tale.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2

Available June 7 for PS5 and PS4 for Premium and Extra members.

Lego games seldom change, but that familiar formula has proven to be a winner over the years. Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 doesn’t stray from that established path of bashing and building your way to victory, and with a cast of Marvel heavyweights, it’s sure to be a winner with younger family members.

Cricket 24

Available June 7 for PS5 and PS4 for Premium and Extra members.

Big Ant Studios’ Cricket games seldom hit a six, but this is a passable attempt at providing starved fans of the sport with something to play. While it has a fair number of licenses, leagues, and fans putting together a proper South African side to use in multiplayer, it has also been criticized for feeling like a carbon-copy of Cricket 22 with minor changes at best.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition

Available June 7 for PS5 and PS4 for Premium and Extra members.

Aw crap, here we go again! With GTA 6 currently scheduled to launch in 2025, you can revisit one of the more groundbreaking entries in the series. This definitive edition of GTA: San Andreas updated the game with new lighting and environmental upgrades, as well as high-resolution textures and controls inspired by GTA V. There were some technical teething issues on launch day, but Rockstar Games has been working to fix those issues.

WWE 2K24

Game trial for PS5 and PS4, for Premium members.

WrestleMania season might be over, but for the WWE, the action never stops. If you’re looking to see what this year’s WWE game has to offer, Sony and 2K Games are offering a timed trial version to try out.
