The world of Fortnite expands at a breakneck pace, and it’s easy to miss something if you’re not keeping daily tabs on the battle royale. One of the recent major updates to the game is the rhythm mode called Fortnite Festival–which has given us big collaborations with Lady Gaga and The Weeknd since it arrived in late 2023. It’s basically Rock Band inside Fortnite and is even developed by Harmonix. Fast forward to today, and you can now preorder the upcoming PDP Riffmaster Wireless Guitar Controller for Fortnite, giving you a more engaging way to play the rhythm game than your standard keyboard or controller.
It’s also sporting a sleek black design and is collapsible for easy storage. In other words, it’s a modern reimagining of the plastic guitars of yesteryear. Both the PlayStation and Xbox models are officially licensed and now up for preorder. The PlayStation version is compatible with PS5 and PS4, while the Xbox edition will work on Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Keep in mind Epic Games has not yet announced a date for the Rock Band compatibility patch. But the developer has announced it’s in the works, and hopefully the Riffmaster will be fully compatible with Fortnite Festival by the time the controller launches on April 30.
and by the time the PDP Riffmaster launches on April 30, there’s a good chance it’ll be supported.
If you happen to have an old Rock Band 4 guitar sitting around your home that’s still in good condition, it’ll likely work with Fortnite Festival. But if you managed to lose your collection of the years (or it’s falling apart after one too many concerts), consider scooping up this sleek new one for your new rockstar career in Fortnite Festival.
