Riot announces new in-game content across games for the Arcane season 2 launch

The second and final season of Arcane, the Netflix animated series based in the world of League of Legends, is swiftly approaching. To celebrate the end of Vi, Jinx, and Caitlyn’s story, Riot is releasing Arcane content across its library of games. League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Wild Rift, Valorant, and Legends of Runeterra will all be getting new content related to Arcane characters, ranging from a new champion to new cosmetics.

The largest addition is the introduction of Ambessa Medarda, a Noxian general and the mother of Mel Medarda. Ambessa is a warlord and fierce combatant, taking advantage of the chaos between Piltover and Zaun to extend her homeland’s reach. She will be coming to League of Legends and Wild Rift as a playable champion, and adapted to Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra. We’ll have to wait to see her in-game abilities, but she’s set to arrive at some point in the next few months.

League of Legends will also re-skin the All Random All Mid gameplay mode to the Bridge of Progress. The Bridge of Progress is a setting for some of Arcane’s best scenes, like the fight between Jinx and Ekko in season one. There will also be new skins, including Vi’s new goth fighter look, a Jinx-themed Nexus finisher, and a new high-end skin for Jinx that tells her Arcane story in the game. In mobile port Wild Rift, Singed and Warwick will be getting gameplay updates, and the inventive Yordle professor Heimerdinger has just been introduced as a new character.

Teamfight Tactics’ upcoming 13th set wil be dedicated to Arcane, including new champions specific to the mode like Powder, the innocent child version of the infamous Jinx. The experimental PvE game mode Tocker’s Trials will be returning, which will let players check out the new set without having to jump into a competitive lobby. There will also be a host of Arcane cosmetics, like a Chibi Caitlyn to accompany you through your matches.

Ambessa is coming to Legends of Runeterra, and both she and Warwick will recieve new Path of Champions campaigns to play through. These should provide a little more narrative insight into the warlord and the werewolf, giving players a new angle on these character outside the show.

Valorant is even getting in on the action, with a new Arcane-themed bundle set to arrive alongside the Netflix debut on Nov. 9. Arcane will release in three installments; the second will go live on Nov. 16, and the final act of the series on Nov. 23. Riot also announced a host of real-world Arcane merch for fans, including a collaboration with Fenty Beauty.
