Samuel L Jackson Wants a Star Wars Disney+ Show Starring Mace Windu

Spoiler Warning: The following article contains spoilers for several Star Wars films and TV shows.

Samuel L Jackson has insisted his Star Wars character Mace Windu isn’t dead despite being hurled out of a window in Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith and he wants a TV show on Disney+ too.

Speaking to Empire, Jackson eagerly replied to text message questions surrounding his role in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. “HE’S NOT DEAD!!!”, he replied when asked about Windu’s apparent death. “EVERYTHING YES!!”, he said when asked about a Disney+ show about the character.

Jackson made somewhat of a cameo in Star Wars: Episode 9 – The Rise of Skywalker, speaking to Rey through the Force alongside the likes of Ahsoka and Anakin Skywalker. He otherwise last appeared in Revenge of the Sith, when his arm was chopped off, he was blasted with Force lightning, and thrown out of a skyscraper.

Star Wars has a habit of bringing back characters presumed dead, however. Not only is it a regular feature within individual films — like Poe Dameron’s crash landing on Jakku or Leia Organa being blasted into space — but some returns have even spanned decades.

Emperor Palpatine’s infamous return in The Rise of Skywalker is perhaps the best example, as the baddie appeared to be definitively killed by Darth Vader in 1983’s Star Wars: Episode 6 – Return of the Jedi before being brought back to life for the 2019 film.

The same has happened all over Star Wars media, however. Boba Fett was also killed in Return of the Jedi but was resurrected for The Mandalorian and later received his own show The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+. And Darth Maul was killed in Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace, but brought back for animated show Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

This certainly sets a precedent for Windu’s return, and Disney appears eager to release character-driven shows. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, and the aforementioned The Book of Boba Fett are just some examples, and Jackson is certainly up for a Windu one.
