Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble Announced for Nintendo Switch

Sega has announced Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble for Nintendo Switch, releasing on June 25, 2024.

Revealed during the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, Banana Rumble includes more than 200 brand new levels. Also a fresh addition, players can now use a spin dash move to blast over obstacles and create shortcuts.

The announcement trailer made clear that motion controls are optional, so those looking to roll around with traditional controls can do so with no problems.

Four player local co-op is also available alongside 16 player online multiplayer in what looks like Fall Guys style competition. Players can race to the finish line in Race Mode, grab falling bananas in Banana Hunt, team up to take down robots in Robot Smash, and more.

“Grab your favourite bunch and slip into a wonderfully crafted story in an a-peel-ing new Adventure mode,” the announcement said. “Journey through 200 all-new stages, featuring support for up to four players in local or online play.

“With over 300 ways to customize your character and their Monkey Ball, along with a new Spin Dash technique, you can bounce, tilt, roll, and now dash past the competition in style as you aim to become Top Banana.”

Check out everything announced during the Nintendo Direct, alongside specific announcements like a new Super Monkey Ball, a remake of Epic Mickey, a remaster of Monster Hunter Stories, and the first Xbox games coming to Switch.
