Max is really showing out right now, guys. A highlight reel of upcoming shows gave fans a glimpse into the studio’s next couple of years, including a small but mighty look at the highly-anticipated The Batman series, The Penguin, starring Colin Farrell.
The Penguin gets some serious airtime towards the end of the two-minute sneak peek, though not before he gives a grimy smirk in the first few seconds. “The world ain’t built for guys like us,” he laments while loading something sinister into the trunk of a car alongside another man. “You ain’t seen what I can do.”
It’s only a few collective seconds of footage, but it certainly gives a compelling framework for what the show is going to give us. Plus, Farrell’s insane makeup for the villainous role is so exciting to see.

Max also showed off a ton of footage from other series on next year’s docket, both sneak peeks of completely new projects and new seasons of existing favorites. They debuted footage from the upcoming seasons of True Detective with Jodie Foster, the Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon, the acclaimed adaptation The Last of Us, and even some insightful and spooky footage from the It spin-off series Welcome To Derry.
There were even shorter glimpses of more projects, including a new Pretty Little Liars spin-off, a new season of Industry, and a new series called The Regime starring Kate Winslet.
As for The Penguin, the series is reportedly set to arrive on the small screen in the fall of next year. It’s a spin-off series of Matt Reeves’ The Batman that centers on Oswald Cobblepot’s rise to power in Gotham’s criminal ecosystem.
The show stars Farrell, reprising his part from the film, alongside Cristin Milioti, Clancy Brown, and Michael Zegen. Lauren LeFranc created the show and will serve as showrunner, with DC Studios producing.
