The entire SteamWorld library, including SteamWorld Heist 2, is on sale at GOG

The SteamWorld series is one of my favorites in gaming today, a loosely connected collection of titles that each take a popular genre and add their own spin on it. Thunderful is having a publishing sale at GOG, and the headline deal here is SteamWorld Heist 2, which debuted last month and is on sale at GOG for $20.99 (was $29.99).
SteamWorld Heist 2 is an excellent 2D turn-based tactics game that takes heavy inspiration from XCOM — in our review, we called it a “multi-classing masterwork,” and having personally put in a little over 25 hours, I heartedly co-sign that. No knowledge of the previous game or other SteamWorld titles is required to enjoy SteamWorld Heist 2… but they are all excellent and, as luck would have it, also on sale here at even steeper discounts:
The original SteamWorld Heist is just $1.97 (was $14.99). You can also pick up The Outsider and Hatbox: The Hateful Eight +2 DLC for about $1 each.
SteamWorld Build, a novel take on city-builders that’s part Anno 1800, part Dungeon Keeper, is half off at $12.49 (was $24.99).
SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech is a card-battler (think: Slay the Spire with a more concrete narrative) and is on sale for just $1.74 (was $24.99).
SteamWorld Dig and Dig 2, the Metroidvanias of the bunch, are on sale for $1 and $2, respectively, a savings of 90% each.
Taken together, you pick up the entire SteamWorld collection for a little over $40, which offers streamlined and novel takes on a variety of cornerstone genres in gaming. Check out the full Thunderful sale at GOG, which runs through Sept. 25. As is always the case, each game is DRM-free.
