The Original Anaconda Is Getting a 4K Steelbook This Year

Anaconda may be getting a reboot (sorta?) this year starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd, but if you’re itching to watch the original film from 1997, we have good news: it’s set to get a 4K steelbook this year ahead of the new film’s release in December. The timing couldn’t be better.

The 4K steelbook of Anaconda is currently available to preorder for $39.99 (see here at Amazon) and is set to be released this year on December 9. It also comes with some bonus features for fans to dig into, which we’ve listed out below. 4K steelbooks have a tendency to sell out fast, so be quick to get your preorder in if you’re hoping to add it to your collection.

The cover for this 4K steelbook features the anaconda’s eye front and center, staring you down, while the back features the rest of it all coiled up. On the inside, you’ll find a 4K UHD copy of the film alongside a digital copy. There’s also a few bonus features on the disc to watch, which we’ve detailed below.

Anaconda (1997) 4K Steelbook Bonus Features

  • Interview with Director Luis Llosa
  • Interview with Co-Writer Hans Bauer
  • Deleted & Extended Scenes
  • Theatrical Trailer

Unlike the original, the upcoming Anaconda film is actually a comedy, with the story revolving around Black and Rudd hoping to make their childhood dream come true of rebooting the original Anaconda. It’s set to be released on December 25, so you can do a little double feature of the original with this one on the day. What better way to spend your holidays?

Alongside Anaconda, December’s starting to fill up with some very fun releases, which is good news for collectors of physical media.
