The Perfect Nintendo Switch Micro SD Card Is On Sale in the UK Right Now

Looking to top up your storage capabilities for your Nintendo Switch? There are some great deals right now on a few brilliant options for Nintendo’s wonderful handheld hybrid. For starters, the officially licensed Nintendo Switch SanDisk 128GB microSDXC is down to £13.99 at Amazon, down from £34.99.

That’s a huge discount, but we can probably do better. You might be better off fully future-proofing yourself and opting for an A2 MicroSDXC with 512GB of storage (which could be perfect for the Switch 2 when it eventually releases). Right now you can secure an Amazon Basics Micro SDXC Memory Card 512GB for £29.99 (down from £37.99). Most other cards of this quality and size are around £40 or more right now, so this is a great offer and well worth considering as well.

There are some minor differences to consider between these two cards. For starters, download speeds are the critical factor with A1 vs A2 SD Cards. Put simply, A2 cards perform better when directly downloading and installing a game to the card.

A1 cards will still perform just as well while running games, but you’ll find yourself waiting significantly longer for the file downloads to finalize when first installing anything. If you’ve got speedy internet, this is important, as A2 SD cards will allow you to take full advantage of those download speeds and start gaming ASAP. A2 cards can also be used with the Switch for futureproofing, but it’s not a requirement, as you won’t benefit from the increased speeds on the device in its current form.
