Top 20 Best-Selling Games For June 2024 In The US
June 2024’s Top Games
Market research firm Circana has released its latest monthly report, offering insight into the state of games-based consumerism in the United States. Executive director Mat Piscatella posted the new report on Twitter and revealed the top 20 best-selling video games in the US between the dates of June 2 and July 5, 2024.
Elden Ring took the top spot across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, thanks to the recent Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Kingdom Hearts: Integrum Masterpiece shot up all the way from #399 to #3 due to the release of the Steam port. When it was announced back in 2022, it was previously exclusive to Nintendo Switch.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance had strong sales, debuting at #4. The base Shin Megami Tensei V was also previously a Switch exclusive when it first launched in 2021. The updated Vengeance port features extra content and quality-of-life features, and is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox now. The other new game to crack the list is Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, which landed at #8.
Piscatella also added some insight on the video game industry more broadly. June hardware spending fell 37% when compared to a year ago. During the first half of 2024, Switch’s hardware spending was hit the hardest, with sales at 48% lower than last year, followed by Xbox Series at 18% and then PS5 at only 5%. Switch’s steep decline is likely due to consumers waiting on its successor, which is expected to launch sometime within the next year.
