Toy Story 5 Story Will be ‘Toys Against Tech’ as Woody and Company Face Off Against Tablet – D23 2024

Toy Story 5’s story was revealed during D23 2024, and this time it’ll be Woody versus the iPad. During the event, writer and director Andrew Stanton confirmed that it will be about “toys going against electronics,” showing an image of Bonnie under the covers with a tablet.

In addition to the plot, we saw a few other images from the new film, including what it looks like about 50 rogue Buzz Lightyears as well as the cowgirl Jessie.

Little else was revealed about the film, with Stanton quickly making way for Elio to reveal its first trailer. In addition to Toy Story 5, Pixar also showed off its upcoming TV projects Dream Productions and Win or Lose.

Disney previously announced Toy Story 5 back in 2023, confirming it would arrive in theatre on June 2026. Soon after the announcement, Tim Allen confirmed he would reprise his role as Buzz Lightyear. Tom Hanks’ return is unconfirmed.
