Microsoft has revealed the Xbox Wireless Controller: Sky Cipher Special Edition–a translucent gamepad that lets you see the gadget’s inner workings. It releases on August 13, and preorders are now available. Like most special-edition controllers, we’re expecting this to be quite popular. So if you don’t want to miss out, be sure to reserve a unit soon.

Keep in mind that this controller uses AA batteries instead of a rechargeable battery pack, though you’ll get up to 40 hours of playtime before needing to replace them. If you want a rechargeable controller, there are plenty of battery packs you can purchase separately, including this officially licensed charge kit.

While there’s no doubt this is one of the most eye-catching first-party Xbox controllers we’ve seen over the years, Microsoft has launched plenty of other gamepads with slick designs. Many of these are currently on sale–so if you want to save some cash or can’t wait until August 13 for a new controller, here are a few deals for you to check out.
