Every Exotic Weapon and Armor In Destiny 2: The Final Shape (So Far)

Destiny 2: The Final Shape is raising the stakes for the final chapter in the Light and Darkness Saga, but more importantly, it’s also adding several new Exotic weapons and armor pieces to the game. Remember, if you’re going to face down a god-like being in a contest to save all of reality, you’re going to want to look good for that fight. So far, a handful of Exotics have been shown off, ranging from interesting new armor pieces to powerful new firearms.

The Final Shape will also see the debut of Exotic class items, and if luck is on your side, you could get a randomized roll with a powerful combo of armor perks. Ahead of the expansion’s release on June 4 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, we’ve rounded up every known Exotic so far and you can check back in regularly for updates to this list.

From the return of an old favorite to a detailed look at the potential of the new Exotics, here’s everything you’ll be hunting for in The Final Shape and the changes Bungie has in store for these rare pieces of god-killing gear.

Khvostov — Exotic auto rifle

The original weapon that all Destiny players started out with in the original game, the Khvostov is finally making its Destiny 2 debut in The Final Shape. While Bungie hasn’t shared many details on this classic auto rifle, it has confirmed that it carries a perk that allows every seventh shot to become a richocet bullet that can shred through multiple enemies.

Tessellation — Exotic fusion rifle

Tessellation has been available since preorders for The Final Shape went live, but for anyone looking to hop into the expansion next month, this fusion rifle will be available to earn in the game. Its primary perk, Property: Undecidable, adapts its damage type to match your equipped subclass and final blows grant grenade energy. Property: Irreducible allows the weapon to consume your grenade and then loads a large explosive charge that generates an elemental explosion on impact.

Mataiodoxia — Exotic Warlock chest armor

Arcane Needles cause a suspending detonation with this Exotic piece, allowing you to quickly halt the momentum of any enemies rushing at you. Time it with your Strand Super, and this Exotic should be able to turn the tables in a battle where you’re on the losing end.

Gifted Conviction — Exotic Hunter armor

Arc Aspects create bouncing explosives when Gifted Conviction is equipped, making this an Exotic armor piece with high potential for Hunters who know a thing or two about Destiny 2 character builds.

Hazardous Propulsion — Exotic Titan armor

What if your Titan could defend and attack with their class ability? That’s where Hazardous Propulsion comes in handy, as throwing up a barrier will also unleash a barrage of rockets at your enemies. While Khepri’s Horn could also turn a barricade into a weapon, Hazardous Propulsion looks more flexible in comparison.

Exotic Class items

So far, we know that each Guardian type will receive at least one Exotic class item in The Final Shape. Warlock bonds, Hunter cloaks, and Titan marks will roll with a pair of randomized perks from a selection of existing Exotic armor perks. Even better, players could inherit perks from other classes, leading to some potentially powerful combinations. One example here would be an Exotic Titan mark with Spirit of the Star-Eater and Spirit of the Ophidian perks, leading to a build where Titans reload weapons incredibly quickly and can overcharge their Super abilities when picking up an orb of power.

Some Exotic perks on the class items have been adjusted to be more balanced–so that they don’t render the standalone Exotic pointless–while others have been enhanced to work better with Guardian abilities. Exotic class items become available after the first completion of The Final Shape’s new raid, which in turn will lead to a new activity being unlocked. Bungie says this activity is farmable and will provide random perks on an Exotic class item every time you complete it.

It’s going to be easier to get the Exotic armor you want in The Final Shape

Getting your hands on new Exotic armor can be very time-consuming–and infuriating depending on the Legend Lost Sector of the day–but the process is getting simplified in The Final Shape. When the expansion launches, everyone’s favorite Cryptarch Rahool will be the source for any new Exotic armor released in Destiny 2, as he’ll have his own reputation track and rewards for players to earn.

Increasing your reputation can be done by decoding engrams with him, and after you completely fill the reputation track once and reset your rank, Rahool will give you access to a new tier of focusing. You’ll be able to purchase any piece of Exotic armor for any character on your account for the price of one Exotic engram and one Exotic cipher, and there is no weekly limit to using this tier of focusing. As long as you have the resources, you can go wild.

For those players looking to still grind through Legend Lost Sectors, Bungie says that these locations will still have the same drop rate for Exotics, but they’ll be dropping Exotic engrams instead of specific armor pieces. On Neomuna, you can still get new Exotic armor drops when you complete a Vex Strike Force encounter, but won’t be adding any more new armor to the list.

Exotic weapon changes in The Final Shape

There’ll be a massive series of balance tweaks made to Destiny 2’s arsenal when The Final Shape launches, but in the Exotic department, the big news here is a major adjustment to Divinity and the removal of weapon “spec” mods.

First up, Divinity has been a popular Exotic trace rifle in high-level activities due to its ability to create one huge critical hit spot on enemies. Bungie is adjusting the effectiveness of the gun so that it takes longer to create that critical hit spot on an enemy and the beam won’t last as long, making it less effective overall.

Other smaller tweaks will be made to Dead Man’s Tale, Truth, Queensbreaker, The Colony, and Touch of Malice, and you can expect these weapons to be more effective in PvE content. Fans of the poison-spreading Osteo Striga submachine gun can expect a big nerf to that popular gun, as it will get a four-second cooldown on its poison effect and will be far less effective at clearing a room of cannon fodder enemies.
