Ghost Of Tsushima Will Be Playable On Steam Deck, But There’s A Catch

Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is officially slashing its way onto PC this month, and for anyone looking to experience the open-world samurai game on Steam Deck, there’s mostly good news. Sony’s PC porting studio Nixxes has confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima will be playable on Steam Deck–and “similar” handheld gaming PCs–but only for the single-player campaign and its Iki Island expansion.

The Ghost of Tsushima: Legends co-op multiplayer mode won’t be playable on that system due to it requiring Windows to access PlayStation Network integrated features. This has led to a strange situation where the game has been listed as “Unsupported” for Steam Deck.

Nixxes didn’t clarify if the multiplayer mode would function on Steam Deck competitors like the ROG Ally or MSI Claw, which run on a Windows 11 operating system. Nixxes added that it has “worked extensively to optimize performance and deliver the best possible experience” on these devices and it explained how Legends will include cross-play between players on PS5, PS4, and PC.
