Resident Evil 7 Comes To Apple Devices Soon, With Resident Evil 2 In The Works

Capcom’s 2017 survival-horror title Resident Evil 7 will be the latest game in the series to launch on the modern Apple devices, Capcom has announced, with the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2 also in the works. Capcom did not give a release window for when Resident Evil 2 might arrive.

Resident Evil 7, which is now available for preorder on the App Store and will release on July 2, will be playable on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPads and Macs with an M1 chip or later. It will support Universal Purchase across Apple devices as well as cross-progression between Apple platforms. When played on iPad or iPhone, the game will take advantage of a new Auto Fire feature that will allow players to automatically fire weapons at enemies after aiming at them for a specific period of time. Both Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 will use Apple’s Metal FX Upscaling technology to enhance the game’s visuals and performance.

The Not A Hero DLC for Resident Evil 7, starring frequent series star Chris Redfield, will be included with the Apple re-release, but it will not include various other DLCs, like the End of Zoe or the various Banned Footage DLCs. Those will be available separately as part of the game’s Gold Edition, which also includes the Survival Pack and 5-Coin Set DLC, as well as the game’s Madhouse difficulty.
